Hi,

I'm looking to bill a scope and the EM on the same visit can the risk for doing a scope be counted towards the EM level as well as bill the procedure separately.

Question is, was the patient scheduled for a scope, or was it determined during the E&M that they need a scope?  If they were scheduled an E&M would be inappropriate unless a separate identifiable condition was addressed.  If during the E&M a scope was determined necessary and comorbidities were discussed as potential risks than yes you can count that as a moderate risk.
